It is a great myth that a happy couple never gets tired of one another or feels the need to spend a little time apart. Regardless of if your time apart is spent in different rooms of the same house or different sides of the same town, it can be productive when it is appropriate. You should always consider spending a little time apart to spark the feelings of missing one another and adding excitement to your relationship.
This doesn’t mean that you should be spending more time with your friends than your significant other, just that you should spend some time away. A night a week or so is good to make sure that you are both getting a little stimulation away from home and making home seem special. Don’t rule out spending a night or two in different rooms of the house enjoying different entertainment either.
Again, this type of time away does not help you or your relationship if it is spent away somewhere like work. This is likely just creating stress for the one that is working and is not creating any of the good benefits of spending time apart. This time away needs to be enjoyable, relaxing and entertaining for both parties so that when the return is made to home it is made in good spirits.
