Affair Recovery

The Affair Doesn’t Get
the Last Word.

If you’ve just discovered a betrayal — or you’re the one carrying the weight of having strayed — you are standing in one of the most painful places a marriage can be. Please hear this first: infidelity touches far more marriages than anyone admits. You are not broken, you are not alone, and there is a way through.

I have watched couples walk through this fire — and build a marriage truer than anything they had before.

What Few Coaches Understand

An Affair Is a Grief

It is a wound, and it hurts like one. There is real grieving — the loss of the marriage you thought you had, the person you thought you knew, the story you believed you were living. Most approaches rush past this straight to “rebuilding trust,” and fail — because you cannot rebuild on an ungrieved loss.

I am one of the few marriage coaches who is also a Certified Grief Coach, and it changes everything about how I guide affair recovery: first we honor the grieving. Then healing can take place. Then — and only then — we rebuild trust on something your marriage may never have had before: an honesty deeper than anything that existed until now.

No one would ever choose betrayal as the doorway. But I have watched couples grieve the marriage that was — and build, between the same two people, one that is truer, more awake, and more alive than anything they had before.

The Way Through

What Affair Recovery Actually Looks Like

Every couple’s path is unique — but the healing has a shape. With me as your guide, we move through it together:

1

Stabilize

Stop the bleeding. Calm the crisis, establish safety and ground rules, and quiet the panic enough for hope to enter the room.

2

Grieve

Honor the loss of the marriage that was — the wound, the anger, the heartbreak — for the betrayed and the shame carried by the one who strayed. All of it, witnessed and held.

3

Understand

Look underneath the affair — because affairs are symptoms of something bigger. Careful truth-telling that rebuilds trust: what heals gets spoken; what merely wounds does not.

4

Rebuild

New skills, new agreements, restored trust — creating the marriage that serves you now, on an honesty deeper than you’ve ever had.
